The Role

You'll own full-stack features end to end - from database schema to deployed UI. We ship fast, and AI writes a lot of the first draft. Your job is to make sure what ships is production-grade: secure, performant, and correct.

Stack is MERN with Next.js and PostgreSQL. You'll review and harden AI output every day, debug production under pressure, and own features from data layer to deploy.

What You’ll Do

Review and fix AI-generated code - catch anti-patterns, security issues, bad queries before they hit production
Diagnose and resolve critical production bugs end to end
Build and maintain REST APIs with Node.js and Express.js
Build frontend features with React.js and Next.js (App Router)
Design MongoDB schemas and write PostgreSQL queries
Handle auth end to end - JWT, refresh tokens, role-based access control
Write real tests: unit, integration, component
Maintain Docker configs, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment scripts

What we’re looking for

Deep, hands-on proficiency in MERN stack with Next.js and PostgreSQL
Ability to critically review AI-generated code for security, logic, and performance flaws
Ownership mindset - you ship features end to end, not just your ticket
Git fluency and production debugging skills under pressure
Can explain your own architecture clearly from data layer to UI layer

What You Bring

Must Have

MongoDB: aggregation pipelines, indexing, transactions, Mongoose
Express.js: middleware, error handling, input validation, security
React.js: hooks, custom hooks, state management, performance
Node.js: async/await, structured logging, security best practices
Next.js: App Router, SSR/SSG/ISR, API routes, Core Web Vitals
PostgreSQL: JOINs, CTEs, Prisma/Drizzle ORM, EXPLAIN ANALYZE
Claude Code: comfortable using it AND critically reviewing its output
Git fluency: branches, rebasing, reading diffs - not just add, commit, push
Can explain your own project's architecture top to bottom
